“This was a testament not only to Mahler, but also to Mr. Bychkov and the Czech Philharmonic… this was a moving and intelligent reading of the Resurrection” The New York Times, 26 October 2018

Semyon Bychkov

With his energies carefully balanced between the operatic and symphonic repertoire, Semyon Bychkov enjoys long and fruitful relationships with orchestras and major opera houses in London, Paris, Madrid, Vienna, Milan, Berlin, Chicago and New York. As well as the evident rapport that he shares with the musicians with whom he collaborates, Bychkov’s performances are noted for their breadth of vision, the clarity of interpretation, the rich beauty of his sound and their unfailing sense of occasion.

Subsequent to Macbeth Media Relations’ employment by WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln to promote its 1999 European Tour, we were engaged by Semyon Bychkov to coordinate press for all tours and recordings that he undertook with the orchestra. Our initial focus was the UK media, but the brief has developed to encompass all promotional activity nationally and internationally as well as through social media, and the coordination of all non-management initiatives. Starting in September 2018, Semyon Bychkov became the Czech Philharmonic’s new Chief Conductor and Music Director and together, they release the culmination of their The Tchaikovsky Project recording cycle in August for Decca Classics which will be followed by Tchaikovsky Residencies in Prague, Tokyo, Paris and Vienna in the autumn.
