For his Beethoven/5 project, Jonathan Biss invited five composers to write a companion work for each of Beethoven’s five piano concertos as re-imaginings of Beethoven for the twenty-first century.

On 28 January, Biss returns to London to perform the UK première of Gneixendorfer musik – Eine Winterreise, Brett Dean’s response to Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto Emperor. Sakari Oramo conducts the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
