In the final seminar of the “Kirill Gerstein invites” series this term, Iván Fischer, Founder and Music Director of the Budapest Festival Orchestra joins Kirill to discuss the future of the symphony orchestra.
Iván wonders whether orchestras will exist at all in a few hundred years. If not, what will replace them, and if yes, will they exist in their present form or do they need to reform?
This seminar will take place online, this Wednesday 8 July, at 5pm BST/6pm CET. This event is free to join and open to the public. The talk will be given in English. Expected duration is circa 2 hours. Students and guests will have a chance to interact and pose questions via chat, audio or video.
You will need to complete a free registration for this seminar here.
