In September 2018, Semyon Bychkov began his tenure as Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Czech Philharmonic. Our relationship with him dates back more than 20 years when we were engaged as press consultants to WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln of which he was Chief Conductor.
The original brief was to promote WDR’s concerts in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester and London. Subsequent to the tour we were retained independently by Semyon Bychkov with an open-ended and wide ranging brief that focussed on introducing him to the UK and international media, and additionally included coordination with management in the UK, Europe and the US, communicating directly with the orchestras, opera and record companies with whom he collaborates and liaising internationally on his behalf.
Since Semyon Bychkov’s appointment to the Czech Philharmonic and in tandem with the Orchestra, we have developed media strategies that bring to the fore the strength and depth of the developing relationship. In August 2019, their complete cycle of Tchaikovsky symphonies was released by Decca, marking the culmination of The Tchaikovsky Project. The year-long project included tours to the US, Belgium and Germany; mini-festivals in London and New York; and a series of residencies in Prague, Tokyo, Vienna and Paris.
Keeping in constant and close contact with Semyon Bychkov’s general management, our primary role is to develop and instigate communication strategies that maximise Semyon Bychkov’s time and support his goals.
