Wild Blue Yonder from Eleanor Alberga
On Friday 23 April, Navona Records will release Wild Blue Yonder, a collection of four works written over the last three decades by British composer and pianist Eleanor Alberga. Originally conceived as a disc of larger scale chamber works, Covid restrictions forced a change of plans and two of the works for ensemble were replaced by previously recorded works for violin and piano. Rather than having no connection at all, the resulting programme forms a reflective whole, exploring many of the themes that have continued to fascinate Alberga throughout her career: identity, belonging, and the world of the classics, especially Greek mythology.
Physical copies can be pre-ordered already in the UK via Alberga’s website here.
